Types of two-tier stretch ceilings in the bedroom
Among the variety of ceiling structures made in two tiers, 3 types of ceilings stand out: matte, glossy and satin.
- Glossy or varnished designs - endowed with a shiny surface with a mirror effect and high cost. Gloss expands the space and increases the height of the room, which is important for small rooms. When installing lighting fixtures, you should avoid lamps with lampshades that resemble a plate in shape. Thanks to the shine, even in the photo you can distinguish glossy two-level stretch ceilings for the bedroom from other types of structures.
- Matte designs have a rough surface and lack shine. When choosing matte ceilings, canvases in neutral tones predominate: white and gray. From the outside it appears that the ceiling is simply painted. They have a low cost. The advantage of a matte texture is the ability to use lighting fixtures of any shape and size and create an atmosphere of warmth, comfort, and tranquility in the room.
- Satin fabrics are best suited for bedrooms, have a silky surface and will fit perfectly into any interior. Designs of this type have become an intermediate link between glossy and matte surfaces. They have many advantages and no significant disadvantages. Outwardly respectable, do not glare.

Rules for installing two-level suspended ceilings in the bedroom
Installing a tensile structure is a process that requires compliance with certain rules, among which the main ones are:
- Prepare a sketch of the future ceiling, especially for craftsmen without relevant experience.
- Assemble the main frame. First, the shape of the structure is determined, sketches are made and attached to the ceiling. When installing a two-tier ceiling, it is important to observe the order of connections and clearly measured dimensions. To add strength and extend the service life of the main frame, it is made of a metal profile. The minimum distance from the ceiling to the lower tier of the structure is 15 cm
- The next step is to attach the upper part of the structure. First, the ceiling is marked, outlining the installation location of the tension structure, then metal profile panels are attached and the process is completed by laying plasterboard slabs. The distance between the profiles should be 30 cm.
- Next, the lower part of the structure is attached, the installation of which is carried out depending on the location of the upper tier. If there are curved parts, it is necessary to “adjust” the profile to the appropriate shape. To make the frame stronger, the guides are placed in the center, and the fasteners are made from the wall surface. The final stage is covering with plasterboard and tensioning the canvas.
To avoid installation errors, strips are cut out of solid plasterboard slabs based on sketches, after which the sheet is exposed to water and formed into the desired shape. After drying, the sheets are attached to the ceiling. The joints between the sheets are puttied. Next, the lighting fixtures are installed, the ceiling is primed and painted with a finishing coat.
Since in a room for night and evening rest the main attribute is the sleeping bed, which is always the center of attention, two-level stretch ceilings in the bedroom are installed above the bed. This additionally highlights the sleeping area and attracts the attention of guests.
