Let's see how silver enhances our interiors, giving them additional depth, gloss and grace. International design trends tell us that it looks most relevant against the background of porcelain tiles imitating white and gray marble, glass mosaics in light gray and white tones, as well as in the design of furniture on a metal frame. Lamps with a steel frame and silver elements deserve special mention.
Shimmer finish
Unlike gold, the silver color in the interior does not overwhelm with its pompous character and even in abundance looks harmonious. The soft shine of silver allows it to be used as the main decoration, which will not overshadow with its shine everything that is in the room, and at the same time will advantageously emphasize each element of the interior ensemble, reflecting it in the best light.

Silver Shade is a competent team player. It combines with most colors with which it is friends on equal terms, without drawing attention to itself. In addition, silver effectively emphasizes and sets off its neighbors: blue with it seems brighter, black - deeper, white looks cleaner, and mint becomes cooler.

Interaction of gold and silver in the interior with other colors
To interact with gold in the interior, it is preferable to choose bright and rich colors as a basis. Red and gold are a godsend for interesting solutions, but they are not suitable for every room due to their aggressive presentation. Gold color with blue and blue tones will add luxury, and if you only want peace and comfort, cinnamon color will help.
Those who strive for noble chic will prefer silver. A good option would be to take white as a base and dilute it with a few beautifully shimmering silver details. Please note that this shade can be either cold or warm. It all depends on which color to take as a companion or the main one in combination with silver. For example, on a white background, silver will be refreshing and aristocratic, and on yellow or emerald green it will bring warmth and comfort to the room.
Expressive accents
Despite the flexibility of silver shades, you need to be careful with them. To create harmonious interiors in small apartments, it is better to abandon the full outfit in silver tones, and focus on expressive accents. Take a closer look at wallpaper with silver ornaments - they will fill the interior with a noble spirit at low cost. Or decorate a section of the wall with mosaics with a silver surface. Great idea for finishing a kitchen apron.

Silver color of wallpaper depending on the purpose of the room
Gray wallpaper in the kitchen
Gray wallpaper in the kitchen will help hide minor stains.
The kitchen is a place where it must always be clean. This is not always possible to achieve. It is the gray color that will help maintain cleanliness and at the same time hide minor dirt. Wallpaper in the interior for this room can be chosen either light or darker in tone. Everything will depend on the furniture located.
Recently, designers often make this room completely gray. In this case, they select the tone of the walls, kitchen furniture and flooring in gray, but in different shades, as shown in photo 2. So, the set can be dark gray, and the wallpaper and flooring can be light silver. The result is a monochrome interior in high-tech style. This combination will not irritate you and will make you feel calm, which is important when preparing food.
If you want your kitchen design to be softer and cozier rather than cold, you can add a few warmer tones. Silver wallpaper will go well with classic wooden furniture.
It can be selected in one design. A wooden kitchen set, the same table and chairs will go perfectly together. You can also use creamy shades in this interior. You can spend a lot of time in such a kitchen, and gray wallpaper in the interior will not often get dirty and require maintenance.
Minor details
A novelty in modern interiors is silver surfaces, which highlight subtle and minor details. For example, a door, the base of a chair or the end of a kitchen island, which are painted silver. In this form, the noble metal becomes an unusual accent. Just remember to balance the details. Gradually fill the space with silver elements with glossy, matte, tarnished or sparkling surfaces in shades of silver - this way you won't go overboard.

Gilded furniture
Furniture with gilding looks flashy or restrained and expressive, but in any case impressive. The color of the noble metal is often used to cover carving elements used to decorate wood products. Gilding is appropriate if the house is furnished with timeless classics - wooden furniture with a carved front or figured legs. Wardrobes, secretaries, beds, tables, armchairs, sofas, couches with gilded and silver-plated carvings are perceived as attributes of a luxurious environment.
But it should be remembered that the apparent simplicity of the process of applying gold or silver coating to furniture is deceptive. You shouldn’t take on this on your own - the result may turn out to be of poor quality, the interior will turn out tasteless and cheap. It is more advisable to purchase ready-made furniture with a shiny finish, manufactured in a factory.
Spectacular plumbing
A silver faucet is already a classic, but what if you choose other bathroom details in the same style? A small silver-plated sink of an unusual shape looks especially impressive.

In a small bathroom, this strategy will work perfectly: equip it with taps and a shower in polished silver, match them with handles for the cabinet, lamps and mirrors in matte gold. In this mix, metals will enliven the space without bright colors.

Moroccan details
The Moroccan culture of interior decoration is special, unlike any other in the world. Not only is it based on white and silver, not allowing any color additions, but it also uses original silver parts. For example, Moroccan silver trays, ottomans characteristic of the style, metal lamps with patterned forging and small round coffee tables in groups. Moroccan details are an important trend in interior design around the world and are more than appropriate if you want to decorate your home in silver.
Fine furniture
Silver is not as capricious as gold. It looks great in luxurious Art Deco living rooms or classic bedrooms and will not seem out of place in Scandinavian interiors. But only with a delicate approach. You can refine your interior with refined silver through pieces of furniture. Coffee tables and cabinets with a metal frame, beds and chairs with graceful legs will fill the room with aristocracy and nobility and will not upset the interior balance.

Original fittings
To bring the shine of silver into your interior, you don’t have to start renovations and change furniture. And in minimal quantities this metal can work wonders. Just change the handles on old cabinets, chests of drawers or kitchen units - as you can see, even such an insignificant detail is enough to add expressive and elegant touches to the interior.

Silver wallpaper in various interior styles
It is better to choose silver wallpaper in a retro style with a pattern.
Due to its neutrality, simplicity and at the same time uniqueness, silver wallpaper in the interior can be used in various styles. They are most often used when creating interiors in high-tech, loft or urban styles. These are quite popular movements that are preferred by many modern people. In this case, it would be quite appropriate to cover all the walls with gray wallpaper.
It won't seem boring and dull. A similar option is shown in photo 1. If desired, you can apply several shades at once or highlight an accent wall. It can be either lighter or darker than everyone else. At the same time, the texture of the wallpaper can also be different. In these styles, it would be appropriate to make the floors or doors gray. Even furniture can be this shade.
Precious highlights
A silver lamp is a sophisticated and at the same time simple accent that will add rich color to the style of your apartment. Unusual chandeliers, original sconces, floor lamps with a metal base will create a bewitching play of light and metallic reflections, surrounded by which the room will sparkle like a precious stone during the day even in bad weather outside, and in the evening it will be filled with a magical atmosphere.

Metallized textiles
You don’t like the texture of metal, but want to create a stylish, fashionable and trendy interior? Let silver highlights into the room through upholstery, textiles, carpets and curtains with a metallic sheen. They'll give your space a glamorous look with a subtle modern sheen, without having to go against your metal beliefs.

Shiny details
The easiest way to incorporate silver into your interior is to add decorative pieces with a silver sheen. Vases, figurines, candlesticks, mirrors, photo frames, clocks, candelabra will be appropriate in classic and modern interiors. It’s just important not to oversaturate your personal comfort zone with precious decor. It is better to use several self-sufficient elements than a whole scattering of small items in order to maintain the unity of the interior concept.

Silver design: what style should you use?
There is always drama and bohemian chic in a silver interior. The finest silk-screen printing on wallpaper, the elegant shine of candlesticks on the mantelpiece, the languid shimmer of metal vases and saucers - this is the recipe for those who want to add a zest to their design. Silver is included in many design trends - from pretentious classics to comfortable modernity.
The Art Deco style readily accepts silver nuances, so one should not accuse it of being too fond of gilded details. Rich mirror frames, fantastic lamps, coffee tables on metal legs and sophisticated finishing of “silky” facades – on consoles, TV stands and dressing tables – are trendy.
For Victorian style, silver is the best companion for centuries. Stately armchairs with lush upholstery, spread out on curved metal legs, will complement the design with solid, but not flashy notes. The noble shine of silk curtains, satin covers and bedspreads is appropriate in luxury classics. Complete the luxurious interior with wallpaper with silver monograms.
Objects that imitate aged silver, as well as decor made from real precious metal (saucers, figurines, vases, cutlery, cups, frames) are not uncommon in retro and Provence styles. Combined with soft pastel colors, they fill the room with the charm of a French country house from centuries past.
Silver legs of a coffee table, laconic “chased” vases and pots with unusual geometry are relevant in a modern interior. They create a subtle accent in a cozy space, adding complexity and weight to an understated design.
There are two shades that designers advise using very carefully in interiors: gold and silver. They give the premises luxury and aristocracy, but at the same time they can easily become unnecessary and intrusive. We will talk about how to achieve a harmonious combination of gold and silver in the interior, as well as combine them with other shades, in this article.
Antique dishes
A stylish and sophisticated interior will help create silverware, which was previously only found in the homes of the nobility. Today, such tableware has become accessible: at flea markets and fairs you can find original glass holders, sugar bowls, teapots, trays, champagne buckets and various sets that can become iconic elements of the interior. Just don’t overdo it, otherwise your home may turn into an antique shop.
