If we talk about the quality and power of sauna stoves, then the Cuirassier series is one of the most proven in this regard. In Russia, Greyvari stoves are developed and manufactured in Novosibirsk, at. And they are also called “cuirassiers”. For reference: a cuirassier is an armed warrior from past centuries. In Russia, Cuirassier stoves went on sale only in 2009 - but the reviews until that time were almost all positive. For example, those bath attendants who have already acquired such a stove often praise it for its significant savings in wood, while maintaining the heat at the proper level. A gallant cavalryman, reliability and protection - the Cuirassier stove is so named for a reason: after all, in terms of power, Cuirassier stoves are superior to most of their analogues from other manufacturers.
Advantages and disadvantages of Cuirassier sauna stoves
The products described are very popular due to their simplicity of design and affordable cost. In addition, representatives of this model range have excellent fuel combustion efficiency, ensured by the presence of a beam grate, as well as a drawer for ash. All these innovations make it possible to supply air extremely efficiently to the lower combustion section, i.e. directly under the firewood. An aerodynamic nozzle connected to the upper combustion section additionally supplies air there for secondary combustion of carbon. By the way, already the first cubic meter of air enters the combustion chamber heated to 150°C, which is why there is no external cooling in principle.
Scheme of work
Note! Cuirassiers are also distinguished by the fact that they can even be heated with raw wood. As you know, a significant proportion of thermal energy is spent on drying wood, but in this case hot air comes in, which, accordingly, quickly dries the wood.
Many more users note that the steam from Greivari models is softer and more pleasant than that of metal stoves from other companies. Although bath attendants pay more attention to the grate, which is not cast from cast iron, but is made from steel beams. The explanation for such attention is quite simple: under the influence of high temperatures, such beams expand and move in the grooves, so they seem to self-clean from ash. There is nothing complicated, but it is original.
Internal organization
Users of Cuirassiers also talk about a significant viewing area - even larger than once upon a time with premium models. The front wall of the ash pit, as well as the portal, is made of mirror-like “stainless steel”. For convenient installation and transportation, the portal itself has a removable design.
There is an unusual protection for the rear wall of the combustion chamber, which is a special aerodynamic screen made of expensive heat-resistant steel. Through this screen, the air necessary for afterburning penetrates inside. The bottom of the firebox is protected by special elements (so-called ash pads), which act as natural heat insulators after the fuel burns out.
And, finally, the main thing: Cuirassier furnaces (as already mentioned at the beginning of the article) are equipped with a secondary afterburning zone. This increases efficiency and reduces emissions into the atmosphere. This zone is located in the upper part of the body (on the right). The average temperature there is 450°C.
How does the Cuirassier stove work?
Note! Volatile hydrocarbons, which harm not only health but also the atmosphere, make up about 30% of the total weight of firewood. And in Greivari heating equipment these hydrocarbons are effectively burned.
Main advantages
The bottom of the stoves in this line is protected from overheating by ash pads. Seamless curved walls are practically not subject to deformation. A well-thought-out cooling system extends the service life of the grate. The nozzle screen reliably protects the rear wall of the structure from overheating. These features make the structure very durable and reliable.
The steam is rich due to the large volume of stones. Their area is fully utilized, which leads to their complete heating due to the inclined bottom and smoke collector. The bottom is designed with a slope, which prevents the pouring of stones.

Cuirassier Finka
The line is represented by only three modifications. All of them are distinguished by the fact that they are heated directly from the steam room - this, as you know, is one of the old Finnish traditions. In addition, there is the possibility of additional ventilation of the steam room, for which the stoves are equipped with a retractable ash pan. The heat exchanger and tank are installed on the chimney. Firewood is used as fuel; the appliances are made of 6 mm structural steel and are designed for a chimney pipe with a diameter of 115 mm.
Note! The manufacturer recommends using this model in tandem with a steam generator or economizer.
Let's look at the main characteristics of each modification.
Cuirassier 10 Finka
Cuirassier 10 Finka
A small-sized model, its characteristics are not much different from the more powerful representatives of the Finnish line. Let's consider them (characteristics) in more detail:

Model Cuirassier Swede
Greivari stove-heater Cuirassier 15 Swedish
It is produced in only one modification (Cuirassier 15 Shvedka) and is distinguished (like Finnish stoves) by the possibility of additional ventilation of a steam room. This technology, invented by the Scandinavians centuries ago, involves the oven maintaining hot, but at the same time fresh air. The device sucks it from the steam room directly into the combustion chamber. This leads to a decrease in pressure in the room, as a result of which fresh air is sucked in through a special opening or entrance door.
The air that is already spoiled by breathing enters the device and is discharged out. It is also worth adding that the model is also heated directly from the steam room.
Cuirassier 15 SWEDISH
The main characteristics of the Swede are as follows:
- combustion chamber volume – 60 l;
- maximum weight of loaded stones – 50 kg;
- steam room volume – from 8 to 16 cubic meters;
- price – 25,639 rubles.

Stoves Cuirassier Corbis
Cuirassier Corbis
All models in the Corbis line are equipped with an octagonal open heater made in the form of a grid. Thanks to this design, circular laying of stones is possible (maximum weight is 220 kg). Stoves take quite a long time to heat up, although they retain heat for just as long. The climate in the steam room is mild; there is no need to add firewood too often. Moreover, the above-mentioned circular laying of stones provides other advantages - the IR radiation from heated metal is less harsh, and they can be poured on them from any side. The volumes of steam generated are quite large, but the steam itself is pleasant and soft.
For reference: the word corbis is translated from Latin as “basket”.
The line includes four modifications of the Corbis stove; let’s look at each of them in more detail.
Table No. 2. Characteristics of Corbis Cuirassier stoves
Name | Description | Weight, kg | Steam room volume, m³ | Combustion chamber volume, l | Manufacturer's recommended price, in rubles* |
Cuirassier 15 Corbis | A high-quality, middle-class sauna stove, a welded basket that can hold up to 140 kg of stones, is made of steel rods 0.6 cm thick. Suitable for most steam rooms and climatic zones. It is possible to install both metal and glass doors. | 77 | From 8 to 16 | 58 | 16 228 |
Cuirassier 15 Corbis Intro | The characteristics of this stove are identical to the previous one, the main difference is the presence of a wide panoramic screen with a diagonal of 400 mm. | 82 | From 8 to 16 | 58 | 23 447 |
Cuirassier 20 Corbis | A powerful device that provides quick heating of the steam room to the required temperature, regardless of the time of year. Provides strong but gentle steam. The heater can hold up to 200 kg of stones. | 95 | From 12 to 22 | 78 | 17 851 |

Rolling Stones models
Rolling Stones
A special line of Greivari heating devices, which should be discussed separately. The developers considered that the back wall of the furnace - massive and hot - was unable to function at full capacity, so they made it (the wall) from stones. This provided the Rolling Stones with additional benefits.
- Thus, the maximum weight of loaded stones immediately increased, while the unpleasant radiation decreased.
- You can now store various small items in the container located above the door.
- Thanks to deflectors and the special shape of the combustion chamber, the flame is directed in such a way that the heated surface comes into maximum contact with the stones.
- Special accessories included in the kit allow you to install a branded heat exchanger on the right or left even after installing the stove.
- Laying stones is done as quickly and safely as possible, since the lattice bars are removable.
- All mounting holes are hidden by a removable front plate. Moreover, this plate greatly simplifies the installation of the device.
So, the Rolling Stones line consists of four models. All of them are made of the same 6 mm structural steel, have a built-in heat exchanger and include a water heating tank located on the chimney pipe. The diameter of the chimney itself is 11.5 cm.

Functional Features
Any Greyvari stove is easy to use and easy to install. If necessary, it can be set horizontally - this is possible thanks to the adjusting screws. To clean the firebox, a special hole is provided, which greatly simplifies the process. The doors can be opened in any direction. The large volume of the firebox provides an intense flow of oxygen, which ensures complete combustion of wood.
In addition to technical advantages, each Greyvari stove has another interesting feature - its aesthetic design makes them a stylish and modern decoration for the bathhouse. This line has excellent performance characteristics that make it an attractive solution.
Additional accessories
Among the manufacturer's products there is also other equipment intended for baths. The use of all these additional accessories will improve the quality of your bath procedures.
Greivari universal heat exchanger
Heat exchanger
The heat exchanger is suitable for all sauna models of the company and can be installed on both sides of the stove. All modern models have a removable casing, so the heat exchanger can be purchased and installed as an additional feature. The main characteristics of the accessory are as follows:

It is also worth noting that the heat exchanger is designed for a tank with a volume of 50-100 liters. The cost of the device is 3,180 rubles.
Crater (steam generator)
Accessory for the furnace – steam generator Crater
A steam generator is a device consisting of cast iron shot or pieces of “stainless steel” arranged in a chaotic manner. Having a large heating area, this device is placed in a closed cylindrical container equipped with holes through which water is supplied and the generated steam is released. The steam generator, weighing 6-8 kg, is placed in the firebox flame, where it can heat up to 500°C. If you pour water over it, then within ten minutes an almost imperceptible steam will form (what makes it unnoticeable is that the droplets in it are very small).
How does Crater work? Water gets inside through a special funnel and begins to evaporate. The steam bursts out, passes through numerous pellets and plates, heats up even more and, finally, enters directly into the steam room through special holes.
The cost of the Crater is 3,902 rubles.
Heat exchanger for Rolling Stones models
Heat exchanger for Rolling Stones oven
Installed between the combustion chamber and the outer wall-convector. The heat exchanger can be installed with your own hands (on both sides) due to the fact that a removable casing is provided. Made from stainless steel AISI430 2 mm thick. Main characteristics of the device:

Model range "Cuirassier": about "Swedish", "Fink" and style
The range of Cuirassier stoves is not very rich. Basically, two models are best known in Russia: the so-called “Swedish” and “Finka”. Both of these models are notable for the fact that they make it possible to additionally ventilate the steam room with the stove itself, for which the “Finka” has a retractable ash pan, and the “Shvedka” has a damper specially designed for this.
You can learn how to make a gate with your own hands from the article
The design of the Rolling Stones model is especially original - one of its walls consists entirely of stones! They can be laid at temperatures up to 90˚C, and they warm up very, very efficiently.
But true connoisseurs of style and design will love the Lithos Cuirassier stove with its octagonal mesh heater shape. You can load up to 220 kg of stones into it! They retain heat for a long time, but it will also take a little longer to heat the stove than a standard potbelly stove. But the climate will be mild, and you won’t often have to run around throwing firewood (bathhouse attendants like to call it dancing with a tambourine). In addition, due to the fact that the stones in this model are placed around the firebox, it has its own advantage - the radiation from the heated metal is no longer so harsh, and water can be splashed onto the stones from all sides. It produces a lot of steam and is quite soft.
Features of installation and operation of Cuirassier stoves
Bulky and powerful Cuirassier stoves are installed quite simply, the main thing is that all fire safety requirements are met.

Performance characteristics: what you should know
The big advantage of Cuirassier sauna stoves over their analogues is the firebox with especially thick walls made of alloy steel - in places of the highest temperature loads it reaches as much as 6 mm! In addition, the back wall is additionally reinforced with a special protective screen.
The number of seams in the firebox itself is reduced to a minimum, thereby achieving the necessary integrity and making the structure more rigid. Such fireboxes are much less likely to warp from high temperatures. The Cuirassier outlet pipe is also of good quality - it is made of 1.5 mm thick stainless steel, and in the upper part of the firebox there is also a hole for cleaning the heat sink of the stove yourself. Those. The wall thickness in this furnace is not the same - it ranges from 3 to 6 mm. The front wall is thinner, the back wall is thicker. And only the Cuirassier Inox model is made of 3 mm thick steel.
The installation of powerful and bulky Cuirassier stoves is not difficult either - the main thing is to follow all safety rules. And, if such a stove is not used often and carefully, then it will be able to live for more than 12 years - at least that’s what the manufacturer promises.
You can put up to 50 kg of stones in the Cuirassier - and they warm up quite well. The lower temperature reaches 450˚С, and the upper temperature – 510˚С. That’s why the steel is so thick, 6 mm, so that it can withstand such serious thermal loads without problems. There is also a special gap between the convector and the firebox - the oven is blown through it, and the steam room heats up dynamically. But someone complains about the burning of oxygen by such a stove - they say that with others the air is fresher. In fact, oxygen is burned in excess volume only when there is absolutely no ventilation in the steam room, or the stove itself has been heated to the limit for a long time - and this is already unnatural.
The Cuirassier stove itself is designed for the fact that firewood will be placed into it from the dressing room or rest room, and the Intro door will allow you to comfortably observe the live fire.
Review: Wood-burning stove Cuirassier 10 Standard Greivari – I just love it!
At the dacha, in our old bathhouse, the stove was heated directly from the steam room, almost in the dark. And so we decided to build a normal bathhouse with a good steam room. Based on recommendations, we found builders, and they already advised us to purchase this stove. I don’t really have anything to compare it to, so I’ll just share my impressions. The stove is heated from the dressing room or rest room, which is a huge plus for it - the floor in the steam room remains clean.
The door can be transparent, with heat-resistant glass, but we didn’t need this option. It looks stylish; after two years of use, the shiny edging has not peeled off or faded.
Firewood must be placed deep in the stove. Choose logs less than 45 cm, since the depth of the firebox is 47 cm.
The ash is raked out into a special box.
The firebox door opens 180 degrees, but 90 is enough for us.
Well, now I invite you to the bathhouse
