How to create a bright turquoise kitchen design and avoid mistakes?

Turquoise ceilings in interiors

Living spaces vary in size and function. Therefore, the chosen color palette is aimed at solving different problems.

Bedroom

Turquoise promotes relaxation. But at the same time, it puts you in a positive mood. Therefore, a relaxation room decorated in similar colors helps to cope with nervous tension.

For the ceiling, it is better to choose not the most saturated shades, but paler ones. Bright colors can be inappropriately invigorating.

The turquoise ceiling in the bedroom interior is combined with oriental style decoration. The concept is emphasized by the traditional pattern printed on the canvas. Bronze, chocolate, purple or black shades are suitable for the ornament.

Kitchen

A brighter design is also appropriate here. Turquoise goes well with chrome or white surfaces of household appliances.

The color belongs to the cold range. Suitable for rooms with south-facing windows - it gives coolness and freshness. And kitchens facing north will create a too cold atmosphere. It is better to limit yourself to accent inserts in two-level designs that can be combined with the shade of the kitchen set.

Hallway

The turquoise palette, like other colors of the cold spectrum, expands the space. This is a plus for small hallways and corridors. The idea is supported by the right lighting - a group of spots or floating lines.

Children's

In a child’s room, the turquoise color scheme allows imagination to unfold. The first and obvious solution is to decorate it in a nautical style (from pirate ship stylization to subtle hints in a teenager’s room). A more gentle option, suitable for a girl, is also possible. This is a combination with light shades of pink and lilac. The interior will be complemented by images of flowers - on textiles or in paintings and posters.

Blue-green tones calm the child and promote a positive attitude. A room decorated in a similar color scheme is perfect for a nursery. You just need to choose more delicate and lighter shades.

Hall and living room

For a spacious living room, a turquoise stretch ceiling provides many options. As in the nursery, you can play with a marine theme. The shade is reminiscent of the southern oceans, so a reference to the paradise islands would be appropriate. It can be indicated by details of the furnishings - for example, a wicker chair, shells or corals. Combine with golden or beige, which will remind guests of sandy beaches.

Another option is a room in an ethnic spirit. Such a living room becomes cozy and mysterious. Combine turquoise with beige, coral, orange. Animal prints are woven in, and faux fur may be used as an accent. And of course, the interior is complemented by decor with drawings - from African ethnicity to dream catchers.

Another aspect of turquoise is ceremonial decoration, in a palace style. Select classic-shaped furniture and wide ceiling moldings. The range will be complemented by white and beige, with gold in small quantities. In this design, it is better to stick to restrained pale shades so that the style is not defined as “oriental boudoir”. Modern design also looks great in loft and minimalist interiors.

Bathroom

For this room, turquoise is one of the traditional colors. The shades are reminiscent of warm waves and transform hygiene procedures into relaxing baths. And thanks to the cool shade, the bathroom will seem more spacious. White plumbing also goes well with it.

The theme can be supported by small decor, for example, a pattern in the corner of the ceiling. A starfish, air bubbles, a fish from a coral reef, etc. are suitable. But it is better to avoid paintings on the entire surface; for a small space it will be intrusive.

What color goes with turquoise?

  • White is considered a traditional companion in turquoise kitchens. The white and azure duet is a frequently used solution in the marine and Mediterranean style. Both the azure set against the background of snow-white walls and the snow-colored furniture against the background of turquoise walls look luxurious. It should be borne in mind that the white and turquoise combination turns out to be quite cold, although in its severity it does not lose its mystery.
  • The gray-turquoise combination will also be quite strict. This is a standard duo for a modern kitchen, in the interior of which considerable attention is paid to technology and functionality. Gray-blue fittings are often used on both white furniture and azure-colored furniture. The duet of graphite gray furniture with light blue decoration is luxurious: the ceiling and curtains can be heavenly, while the wallpaper should remain white or milky.

  • A combination of turquoise and pearl will make the kitchen warmer , the pearlescent notes of which add mystery to an already magical setting. Pearl curtains, ceiling, apron and tabletop will beautifully set off the azure set.
  • The interior in a beige and azure duet will be soft and cozyas can be seen in the photo. Beige wallpaper will become a neutral background for rich aqua-colored furniture. At the same time, a beige set will look impressive against the backdrop of a luminous turquoise apron. In a beige-azure modern interior there is no need for additional decor, which should be taken into account when choosing a style.

  • Duets of azure with yellow, light green and chocolate are harmonious. The brighter the turquoise kitchen, the lighter the companion should be, although an exception could be a deep aqua color combined with a chocolate or dark wood shade. In any of the listed combinations, the interior turns out warmer than in a gray or white-turquoise design.
  • Another classic solution is a black and turquoise kitchen. In this duet, azure acquires depth, and the kitchen becomes too strict. Therefore, it is recommended to use not radical black, but dark gray, which will look a little softer.

Interior styles

When decorating a room, you should carefully consider the choice of design direction. This will affect how the kitchen will look in turquoise tones. The color suits most popular interior styles if used wisely.

Provence

In the interior design typical of the French province, it is almost impossible to do without a cool shade. Turquoise is used for painting wooden furniture, walls, ceilings and floors. It looks appropriate in decor - on textiles, dishes. A companion shade can be the color of brick, light wood, flax, sandstone, lavender, wheat.

For a Provence style kitchen, the lightest shade of turquoise with a predominance of blue is suitable.

Modern

This interior is characterized by smooth lines, patterns, and natural motifs. An excellent choice for the kitchen would be a turquoise apron, decorated with marine-themed designs or floral patterns. White wall trim and a glossy ceiling look good as a background. Plumbing fixtures are standard chrome, and it is best to choose acrylic countertops.

Classic

For this style, turquoise is considered too frivolous an option. However, if we talk about a modern interpretation of a classic interior, then this color is quite acceptable. With its help, you can design facades that will look appropriate in combination with bronze fittings and plumbing.

In a classic kitchen, you should use furniture made of natural wood. The palette depends on the size of the room.

Minimalism

In this style, the main emphasis is not on color, but on geometry and utilitarianism. Turquoise can be used to decorate walls, floors, ceilings, and to decorate kitchen units or as an accent. The main thing is to choose furniture of strict simple shapes, multifunctional equipment and use a minimum of decor.

High tech

In such an interior, the main decoration is neutral (white, gray, beige). But a glossy turquoise kitchen set or ceiling will look advantageous. Additions will include chrome inserts on household appliances and facades.

Country

This is a rustic style where the natural palette looks good. It is worth using pale matte turquoise. A country kitchen will become more refined if you lay the floor with ceramic tiles, choose artificially aged or antique furniture, and use wooden and textile accessories.

Mediterranean style

In the design of their homes, residents of northern countries embody all the greatness of nature. But they don’t forget about comfort, creating it with the help of pronounced textures - wood, rough textiles, ceramics. The turquoise color in the interior of a Scandinavian kitchen looks perfect and is considered a classic. It can be used in decoration, furniture and decor, combined with white, beige, gray, various light shades of blue and green.
