Infrared heating devices have been present on the heating equipment market for a long time and, due to the efficiency of their operating principle, occupy an impressive niche there. The designs of IR heaters, their control and safety systems are constantly being improved, primitive units are no longer available for sale, so infrared heaters with a thermostat are devices with familiar, standard equipment, which is already taken for granted. However, temperature controllers are different - not only standard ones (of varying degrees of functionality), but also additional ones installed in the actual area of the room to increase the efficiency and convenience of heater control.
Let's consider standard temperature regulators used on infrared heaters, and options for equipping IR heaters with additional temperature-regulating equipment - more advanced devices, the effectiveness of which can hardly be overestimated.
IR heater temperature regulator and its purpose
The operation of any heating device is accompanied by heating of the body, air and objects in the room. Lack of control over these processes is unacceptable - overheating of the heater can lead to a fire, not to mention excessive heating of the air in the room and unjustified waste of energy. Therefore, modern heating devices are necessarily equipped with thermostats, the installation location and design of which are determined by their purpose.
Important! The heater power mode switch is not a device that replaces the temperature controller.
Depending on the installation location - directly on the unit or in the actual area of the room (remote devices), the thermostat reacts to changes in the temperature of the heater body or air in the room and turns the heater on and off, maintaining the preset mode.
Controlled thermostats: on the left – standard ones from the liquid heater, on the right – an additional remote one.
Let's take a closer look at temperature-regulating devices, standard and remote, installed on infrared heaters.
Tepleko heaters: quartz, energy-saving, characteristics
Today, a monolithic quartz heater is one of the most economical and efficient options for heating a home.
Quartz heater TeplEko
In this article we will tell you what the TeplEco heater is, what its technical characteristics are and what reviews consumers leave about it, what are the advantages and disadvantages of the devices.
Content
Design
Any quartz thermostats are constructed in a monolithic body made of molten quartz sand. The monolithic body itself is made with the addition of marble chips, and inside the device there is a heating device made in the form of a spiral.
Quartz heaters pass current through a spiral, thereby heating it. Typically, the temperature level of the coil in this case is about 980 degrees, but when the monolithic heater is operating, this figure does not exceed 120 degrees, which can significantly increase the service life of the device.
TeplEco quartz heater can be installed in children's rooms
It should also be noted that the TeplEko thermostat has a high rate of inertia, as a result of which the heater takes a long time to heat up and, accordingly, takes a long time to cool down. The positive aspect of this characteristic is that even if the electricity in the house is turned off, for about an hour and a half, the TeplEco quartz heater, as consumer reviews show, will be able to keep the rooms warm.
However, there is also a negative side - again, according to reviews, it will not be possible to quickly heat the building, since the energy-saving heater from TeplEco must work for at least 20 minutes to warm up to 95 degrees.
Operating principle
Now let's look at the principle of operation. A monolithic quartz heater from TeplEko warms the room, as we said earlier, thanks to the heating of the stove from the spiral installed in it. The surface of the device in this case can heat up to 95 degrees.
Thanks to such a high temperature, convective heating of the air in the house is carried out, and an infrared signal is also emitted from the panel. That is, the thermostat itself, one might say, is a convective and infrared device.
Positive aspects of using quartz heaters
The design slab is connected directly to the electrical network - it is not equipped with automatic devices, and accordingly, it always functions at the same high level.
As reviews show, the TeplEko monolithic stationary heater effectively heats the room, but in order for a person to regulate the temperature in the room, you should additionally buy and install an Eberle thermostat. Accordingly, it is necessary to ensure that the thermostat is connected to the heater.
Advantages and disadvantages
The information below is based on specifications as well as customer reviews. Let's start with the advantages that heaters have:
- The energy-saving heater from TeplEko, as reviews show, does not dry out the air in the room due to the fact that its main component - the spiral - does not come into contact with the air flow. Thanks to the design features, the likelihood that dust that accumulates on the body will ignite is reduced to zero.
- The TeplEco device, connected through a thermostat or without it, consumes a minimum of electricity. To heat a room or apartment with an area of about 18 square meters, the device will consume approximately 0.4 kW/h. That is, if you need to heat a private house, the area of which is about 100 square meters, you will need about six devices, each of which will consume about 2.4 kW/h.
- As reviews show, energy-saving quartz heaters are completely safe.
- Long service life of about 25 years. Consumer reviews indicate that most often the wire used to make the connection fails prematurely. But he can also change it with his own hands without any problems.
- Relatively competitive price.
- The heater, which is connected via or without a thermostat, can operate without problems in rooms with high humidity, for example, in showers or bathrooms.
- Connecting and operating the TeplEko device, as reviews show, usually does not cause difficulties.
- Thanks to its attractive design, the device can be installed in any interior.
Heater marking table
As for the disadvantages:
- The energy-saving quartz heater from TeplEko is heavy, which can affect and slightly complicate the installation process.
- High surface temperature of the device - as reviews show, TeplEco quartz heaters are very hot, which creates a danger if there are children in the house. If you want to avoid possible burns, the device should be additionally covered with a decorative screen. In turn, this can lead to the fact that the infrared signal will decrease, and accordingly, the heating intensity will also decrease.
- Inability to regulate temperature, as evidenced by numerous consumer reviews. To be able to regulate, you will need to additionally install a thermostat. In addition, an additional thermostat also involves wiring. It is important to install a thermostat on quartz heaters if there are several heaters in your house. This device will allow you to maintain the desired temperature level and also prevent excess consumption of electricity.
Criterias of choice
Buying a quartz or infrared device is an important point in arranging the heating system of any home.
Packaging of TeplEko quartz heater
To purchase a heater, it is important to be guided by the following criteria:
- If the building is equipped with a centralized heating system, and the energy system makes it possible to withstand a large load of devices that operate at high power, then it makes sense to think about purchasing an infrared heater.
- If the electrical network of your home does not allow you to install a system operating at high powers, then you may want to think about purchasing a monolithic quartz heater. It can be either wall-mounted or floor-mounted.
- When you have made a choice in favor of an infrared or quartz device, all that remains is to decide on the budget you have and the power you need. Of course, so that the device does not disturb the aesthetic properties of the room, its design should also be taken into account.
- If necessary, if your home is not equipped with a central heating system, it is quite possible to combine these two types of heaters - quartz and infrared. But here you should also take into account such a thing as network power. It is important that it can withstand the simultaneous connection of devices of different types.
- Of course, economic feasibility should also be taken into account before purchasing. Before installing quartz devices, you should analyze the dynamics of use.
Heater installation
Read on to learn how quartz heaters with a thermostat are installed:
- First you need to decide on the choice of location for the device. Having decided, penofol is glued to the installation location on the wall with the adhesive side. In this case, it is desirable that the installation site be located at a level of 20-25 cm from the floor.
- Then, in accordance with the dimensions of the purchased device, the brackets on which the heater will be supported must be screwed onto the wall. First left, then right. After this, the top bracket should be screwed on top in the middle.
- Next, the heater itself is installed.
- The thermostat is hung at a level of about one and a half to two meters from the floor. After installing it, connect the device to the network.
Monolithic quartz heater in the interior of an apartment
- Then you should turn on the installed heater. If the room that needs to be heated is large, a tee should be connected to the thermostat plug, into which several devices need to be connected. This way, you can ensure that the thermostat turns on and off several devices at once. In addition, in each individual room you can adjust the temperature to the required level.
- The next step will be the installation of the hanging screen. It is necessary to screw in the screw on one side so that its head does not fit tightly to the wall. The screw is screwed in 2-3 cm from the top of your heater.
- In the same way, another screw is screwed in on the other side.
- Now you can install the screen itself and check the functionality of the device again. As you can see, in principle there is nothing complicated in installing the structure. It is enough just to follow and take into account some of the nuances that we discussed in this article, and no problems will arise.

Types of temperature control devices
Despite the many types of infrared heaters, there are much fewer types of thermostats used on them. They differ from each other according to their purpose, which determines their location, contact medium and principle of operation (design).
Electromechanical thermostat
Temperature regulators of the electromechanical type are standard devices, installed on the heater body or inside it, react to the temperature of the surface of the unit or the liquid poured into the radiator (heat exchanger), and can be adjustable or unregulated.
Adjustable electromechanical thermostats control the heating of the air in the room by cyclically turning the heater on and off, performed after the heater enters operating mode according to the following algorithm: the unit has heated up - the regulator has turned off the heating element - the unit has cooled down - the regulator has turned on the heater. That is, the heating of the room is controlled by preliminary selection on the regulator of the required degree of heating of the heater - a conditional numerical value or marks. The first choice of value or risk is performed randomly and, after stabilizing the temperature in the room, it is adjusted upward or downward.
Capillary thermostats – with conditional marks and with a scale of values.
The design of controlled temperature controllers can be of two types:
- capillary - a special relay in the form of a narrow cylinder in which there is a cylindrical capsule with a liquid having a high coefficient of thermal expansion - the capsule closes and opens contacts with changes in temperature using a specially designed drive; used in liquid-filled radiators;
- bimetallic plate - an element combined from two dissimilar metals with a significant difference in the coefficients of thermal expansion - when heated, the halves of the plate elongate so much that they bend in the landing socket and open the electrical circuit, and after cooling they return to their dimensions and close the contacts.
Controlled electromechanical thermostats: on the left - capillary type, on the right - bimetallic plate.
Controlled electromechanical thermostats do not take into account the air temperature in the room, as well as the weather, time of year and day, so the accuracy of temperature control in the room cannot be ensured with their help. Nevertheless, these devices are reliable, easy to use and practical, which is why they are used to this day.
Unregulated thermostats of the electromechanical type are devices that ensure safe operation of the heater. The essence of their purpose is to turn off the heating element when the unit reaches a critical temperature value (105 degrees), for example, if a controlled thermostat fails. The basic design element of such devices is a bimetallic plate.
The structure of a bimetallic plate, its behavior under temperature changes and examples of the design of thermostats using it.
Important! The need to equip an IR heater with this device, which ensures safe use, is indisputable - timely shutdown of the heater in an emergency will prevent a fire or explosion.
The operating principle of oil heaters and vapor-drip heaters, which are also infrared to a certain extent, requires the installation of both types of thermostat - controlled and uncontrolled.
Thermostat
These temperature control devices are installed on water heating radiators, which also heat the room not only by initializing convective air flows, but also through infrared radiation.
Thermostats for water radiators according to their operating principle are divided into the following types:
- mechanical action;
- mechanical with electronic valve adjustment.
A natural view of one of the models of a mechanical thermostat for water radiators and its structure in section.
A mechanical thermostat is installed on the radiator inlet pipe and is a shut-off valve of a special design, driven by a bellows - a flexible control cylinder with accordion-shaped corrugated walls, which is filled with a liquid with a high coefficient of thermal expansion (toluene, wax). As the air temperature changes, the intensity of heat transfer from the radiator and the temperature of the coolant in it also change. The cylinder lengthens or shortens in accordance with temperature fluctuations, moving the valve rod, and regulates the volume of coolant supplied to the radiator.

Heating with TeplEko heaters: reviews and useful information
A heater is an indispensable household appliance both in an apartment and in a private house, and even more so in the country. Sometimes it becomes the only source of heating. In this case, it is required to operate continuously for a long time, and here users often face the problem of high energy consumption, which is most important when several heating devices have to be used simultaneously. Another important problem associated with the use of electric heating devices is safety. Many heaters pose a potential hazard and should not be left unattended, especially if there are small children in the home.
Puzzling over these problems, domestic specialists have developed a unique quartz heater that combines the advantages of two heating options: the convenience of electric heaters and the efficiency of a traditional Russian stove. Like all electric heaters, the TeplEco heater has a metal heating element. The main feature is that it is located inside a monolithic panel made of quartz sand. When the heater is turned on, the heating element does not heat the air directly, but heats the quartz sand, which has a high heat capacity and is capable of accumulating and storing thermal energy for a long time. Thanks to this, the TeplEko heater continues to warm the room even after being disconnected from the network. This provides enormous energy savings, which allows the devices to be successfully used as an alternative to traditional gas heating. When using a thermostat, the daily consumption of one heater does not exceed 3.5 kW.
The location of the heating element inside the quartz sand panel also solves the safety problem: the temperature of the radiating surface is 95°C. Even if a fabric, soft toy or other flammable object gets on the heater, this will not lead to a fire. Tragedy will not happen if a child touches the heater with his hand: hot quartz sand will not cause as much harm as hot metal.
TeplEco products, reviews of which can be viewed on a well-known review site, are simply irreplaceable where there is no possibility of connecting to gas. A heating system made from TeplEko quartz heaters will allow you to maintain the desired temperature in the rooms automatically. To do this, you just need to connect the heaters to the thermostat. Up to eight devices can be connected to one thermostat. Using a thermostat not only provides convenience, but also reduces energy consumption: when the room reaches a given temperature level, the thermostat will turn off the heaters, preventing them from wasting energy resources unnecessarily.
When considering the advantages of TeplEco heaters, it is worth studying reviews of other models of modern heating devices. Many consumers complain about the bulky dimensions and inconvenience when placed in small spaces. In this regard, TeplEko heaters are very convenient; they can be placed in one of two ways:
- hang on the wall;
- install on the floor.
The wall mounts are immediately included with the heater, because... This is the most convenient installation method. Thanks to its flat shape, the device fits against the wall, practically does not stick out and does not take up space. If you do not plan to install the heater permanently, you can purchase a floor stand. With it, you can install the device in any convenient place.
The products have been sold on the Russian market since 2010. The heaters have earned wide recognition among consumers, and in 2015 they were awarded an award in the “One Hundred Best Products of Russia” competition. The products have passed numerous expert tests and have EAC, CE, GOST R, ISO certificates and an energy efficiency certificate. Today, official TeplEco stores operate in 25 of the largest cities in the country. The company is gradually entering the international market, opening its stores in cities of the CIS countries. In addition to the heaters themselves, additional devices and accessories can be purchased in TeplEco branded stores: thermostats, GSM sockets, protective screens, floor stands, etc. When purchasing a heater in a company store or through the official website of the plant: www.tepleko.ru, each buyer receives a 5-year warranty and a full set of documents.
