Fault code 501 means there is no flame on the burner.
Fault code 502, on the contrary, means the presence of a flame on the burner, but with the gas valve closed.

Also, the control system can issue several warning codes, which respectively indicate unsuccessful ignition attempts in different modes (codes 5P1, 5P2, 5P3).

Like other boilers, Ariston detects the presence of a flame using a special ionization electrode located on the gas burner next to the ignition electrodes, but does this in three attempts, if there is such a need. The easiest way to figure it out is to look at the logic behind the ignition.

Attempt 1: ignition is carried out at a power equal to 80% of the rated power (for soft ignition mode), if after 8 seconds of a protective delay the flame is not registered by the sensor, the system issues an alert 5 P1 and the boiler proceeds to the second attempt;

Attempt 2: the soft ignition power is set to 90% and if at the end of the protective pause 8 s. there is no flame on the burner - 5 P2 is issued, the device makes a last attempt;

Attempt 3 - full power, if no flame is detected - the boiler gives the user error 501, while the fan continues to operate at maximum speed for 40 seconds, and then for another 2 minutes at minimum speed.

In case of error 501 ignition of a gas boiler, it is recommended to perform the following checks:

condition and position of the ignition electrodes
position of the flame control electrode and reliability of contact with the board
reliable contact of the supply wire with the ignition generator
control board failure (diagnostics required)

Code 101

The error occurs when the coolant overheats, which prompts the automation to completely block the operation of the boiler until the temperature readings return to normal.

The reasons may be:

A malfunction of the pump that circulates water through the system.
Damage and malfunction of the NTC sensor.
Malfunction of the electronic control board, which generates a false high temperature signal.

Often with error 101 you can notice an increase in pressure at the outlet of the gas valve. Repair and search for the cause is possible only by experienced specialists. The maximum that can be done at home is to check how well the pump is functioning.

How to eliminate error code 108 on an Ariston gas boiler?

The Ariston wall-mounted boiler stops working, displays error 108 on the display and does not want to start anymore. What's wrong? Error code 108 indicates low pressure in the systems. Possible reasons why this malfunction appears: low fluid pressure in the heating circuit. The contact between the electronic board and the pressure switch is broken. Minimum pressure switch faulty. First of all, you must check the pressure gauge readings. Very often, the problem is corrected using a make-up tap, which is designed to fill the coolant into the heating circuit.

If the failure occurs again, there may be a water leak. The circulation pump, main heat exchanger, excess pressure relief valve, worn gaskets, make-up valve and other parts may be leaking. Leaks can be found by inspecting hydraulic units and components.

Code 103

The error is due to the coolant heating too quickly, which can be caused by the following reasons:

Lack of water in the expansion tank - the liquid has evaporated and the person did not notice.
The water left through the supply system - the person forgot to close the water supply tap, and when the water supply was turned off, the water left the heating system automatically.
Water leakage directly in the heating system - pipes are leaking at soldering or twisting points.

What can be done in such a situation?

First, check the water level in the expansion tank, add if it is below normal. Do the same procedure if your water intake into the heating system is from a central water supply, then close the tap tightly.
Secondly, check if your pipes and radiators are leaking. If there is a leak, it must be repaired.

The most common error codes and troubleshooting methods

The most popular among Ariston boilers are wall-mounted 24 kW models. During the operation of the Ariston gas boiler, failures and malfunctions may occur, like with any other equipment. The list of error codes is given in the instructions in the form of a table. Some of them are a malfunction of the automation (cause a protective shutdown of the device) and can be eliminated by clicking on “Reset”, and some signal malfunctions and interference in the operation of the boiler and require intervention (block the operation of the system).

Error 101 means overheating, the sensor has tripped, and after cooling the boiler starts up. The reason may be the accumulation of scale in the heat exchanger, as a result of which the flow decreases and the temperature increases, or interruptions in the operation of the circulation pump. Wash the heat exchanger, adjust or change the pump. Sometimes the reason may lie in the increased gas supply; tighten the valve; if this does not help, you need to adjust the gas valve.

103,104,105,107

Error 103, error 104, error 105, error 107 occur when there is a violation of the water circulation in the circuit, its absence or low pressure. This happens when air has accumulated in the system; to remove it in Ariston Egis Plus 24 boilers (Ariston Egis Plus 24), press and hold the mode button for 10 seconds. On Ariston Matis and Ariston UNO boilers, hold the rezet button for no more than 6 seconds. The pump will run for 5 minutes without ignition, removing air from the system. then check the pressure, the norm is 1-1.2 bar, increase if necessary.

Error 108 appears when there is insufficient water pressure in the heating circuit. Why the pressure drops - the cause may be a leak from the heating radiators; you should check the connections in the pipes. During the heating season, it will not be easy to notice a small leak, since a small leak will evaporate on hot batteries. You need to turn off the heating and add pressure to 2.5 Bar to determine the location of the leak.

The next reason may be leaking heat exchanger pipes. To eliminate this, you can solder the heat exchanger; if soldering is not possible, it needs to be replaced. The expansion tank may become depressurized or the membrane in the expansion tank may become unusable - seal the tank or change the membrane.

Drill a hole on the reverse side to attach the spool to it. We insert the spool into the inside of the bottle and secure it. We pour water into the bottle, close the tap and connect the heating system to it through a hose, connect the pump to the spool and, pumping it, pour the water into the heating system. We repeat the procedure of pumping water into the system until the pressure normalizes to 1.5 Atm.

Error 109 appears when the excess pressure is above 3 Bar and is considered one of the infrequent ones. To eliminate it, you need to relieve the pressure, as prescribed in the instructions for the device, using the Mayevsky tap. if this does not help, most likely the reason lies in the secondary heat exchanger.

307,308

Error 307, error 308 also appears if the control board is faulty; pressing the reset button will help correct the situation.

Code 501 is described above in the most common errors section.

On models Ariston Egis Plus 24 (Ariston Egis Plus 24) CF, class 24 FF and others, with an open combustion chamber, error 601 means no traction. The sensor blocks the operation of the column in case of interference in the smoke removal system.

This blocking is temporary; after 12 minutes the system will go into operating mode if the cause is eliminated, otherwise it will happen again. To eliminate this, clean the chimney; if the chimney is free, check the serviceability of the draft sensor.

1p1,1p2 (ip2)

Error 1p1, 1p2 (ip2) appears in case of poor water circulation or its absence. The causes and solution to the problem are similar to code 108 and described above.

Error 6p1 appears when problems arise with the air supply and smoke removal, and there is a delay in the relay response. To fix the problem, check whether there is enough air entering the room where the boiler is installed, whether the chimney is clogged, and whether the relay contacts are stuck.

Error 6p2 also occurs when there are problems with smoke removal and air supply, and the contacts of the combustion product pressure switch open during normal operation of the fan. The solution to the problem is the same as when the 6p1 code appeared.

The error appears when the system pressure is critically high (more than 3 bar). This is possible in the following cases:

Excess fluid in the system.
Airy batteries.

The problem can be solved by forcibly draining some of the water from the heating system, as well as bleeding air from all existing batteries.

Problems starting with the number 2 appear only in those models that have two circuits working for heating and water heating.

Look to see if it is bent; the distance from the electrode to the comb should be 8mm with a tolerance of 1mm; see if the connection between the electrode and the board is good;
