Ecover thermal insulation is produced at a modern Russian plant in the Sverdlovsk region. The choice of location was based on proximity to deposits of the gabbro-basalt group of rocks. Thanks to advanced technical equipment, the production of high-quality products is achieved that can solve issues of improving the energy efficiency and environmental friendliness of buildings.
The insulation composition includes: mineral wool created on the basis of rock and a binding component of synthetic origin. At the same time, it complies with all current standards of GOST 9573-2012.
Features of the material
The properties of Ecover Light allow us to talk about the practicality and necessity of this material:
- preservation of room heat due to the fact that the material has a high thermal conductivity coefficient (0.035 W per square meter);
- due to the fibrous structure, the absorption of extraneous noise is ensured;
- environmental friendliness - only natural materials are used in production;
- fire safety and flammability - the temperature at which the material begins to melt must exceed 1000 degrees Celsius;
- water resistance - not susceptible to moisture;
- vapor permeability – Ecover perfectly allows air and steam to pass through without creating a greenhouse effect in the room;
- inertness to biological and chemical factors;
- ability to withstand heavy loads without deforming the structure.
What Ecover Light looks like
Ecover Light has the following characteristics:
- Dimensions: 100 cm – length and 60 cm – width.
- Density – 28 – 60 kg/cubic. meter.
- Thickness – 50 – 200 mm.
- Moisture absorption does not exceed 1.5 percent of the total volume.
- The degree of compressibility is 8 - 15 percent.
- Group of non-combustible materials.
- Melting point 1000 degrees.

Universal insulation: application and characteristics
Universal thermal insulation is represented by three names: Ecover Universal, Light, Standard. All of them are designed for insulation of non-load-bearing structures :
- floors on joists;
- pitched roofs;
- internal walls of buildings;
- interior partitions;
- attic floors;
- air ducts and pipelines heating up to no higher than 400°C.
Ecover Light and Standard can also be used as insulation when constructing a ventilation facade (bottom layer), in three-layer laminated masonry. All three names are distinguished by hydrophobicity, low compressibility, and minimal shrinkage. The standard width is 60 mm, while the thickness can vary between 40-250 mm. The thermal conductivity coefficient is 0.037 W/m·K. Only for Ecover Standard thermal insulation it is equal to 0.034 W/m·K.
Facade thermal insulation - types and technical characteristics
Thermal insulation of this type can be divided into mineral wool boards for plaster and ventilation facades. For facades with a thin layer of plaster, you can use Ecover Ecofacade, Ecofacade Optima, Ecofacade Standard. This insulation is characterized by:
- high compressive and tensile strength;
- light weight, which reduces the load on fasteners;
- good adhesion of the adhesive layer;
- high sound absorption rate;
- thermal conductivity coefficient 0.035 W/m·K.
For external insulation with plastering over a reinforcing mesh, Ecover Facade Decor, Facade Decor Optima, Facade Decor Lamel are suitable. The latter type of thermal insulation can also be used under clinker tiles. Ecover Vent-Facade is suitable as a thermal insulation layer (single or top) when installing ventilated facades. These mineral wool slabs have a low thermal conductivity coefficient, are not blown by air currents from the street, and do not absorb moisture from the surrounding air. They can be easily combined with Ecover Standard, Light, Light Universal insulation.
Materials for roof insulation
If the Ecover company offers universal mineral wool slabs for insulating pitched roofs, then for flat roofs it offers a special line. It is presented on the official website and includes the following items:
- Ecover Roofing. This material is used for thermal insulation in one layer both under a cement screed and without it. It is also suitable for working with attic floors and floors above a cold basement.
- Ecover Roof Bottom. Can be used as a single-layer insulation under a cement screed, internal thermal insulation in a two-layer system, internal thermal insulation in combination with extruded polystyrene foam . Ideal for installation on metal substrates.
- Ecover Roof Top. Application – external thermal insulation in a two-layer flat roof insulation system.
All three types of plates are characterized by high compressive strength and low thermal conductivity. Ecover Roofing Top also ensures optimal load distribution on the lower layer of roofing insulation. When using it, it is possible to install waterproofing without additional screed .

Thermal and sound insulation for floors
Mineral wool boards Step, Step Optima, Step Plus are high-quality heat and sound insulation for:
- heated floors under a concrete screed directly over the insulation;
- interfloor ceilings;
- "floating" acoustic floors;
- basement insulation.
The floor slab provides high-quality sound insulation (shock noise absorption ) even with a minimum thickness of 20 mm. The presence of a concrete screed significantly improves this indicator. Thermal insulation Ecover Step is characterized by increased elasticity and low thermal conductivity.
Industrial and technical thermal insulation
Industrial thermal insulation is represented by Sandwich C (walls) and Sandwich K (roof) slabs. In three-layer panels covered with steel sheets, they act as a heat and sound insulating material. This line of insulation is the most durable of the entire range presented by the company . The compressive, tensile and shear strength of Sandwich C is 50, 90, 35 kPa, respectively. The same parameters for Sandwich K are much higher - 85, 130, 70 kPa. Both materials have increased moisture resistance.
Technical thermal insulation is also represented by two names: Ecover Fire Protection Concrete, Fire Protection Metal. The first is used as a fire-resistant cladding for reinforced concrete structures and utilities . The second is for the same purposes, but for metal structures.
Please note: insulation slabs can be secured to concrete using disc-shaped dowels. They are fixed to metal using both mechanical and adhesive methods.
These insulation materials are resistant to moisture and aggressive environments , are characterized by high strength, and are suitable for applying decorative coatings.

Insulation of walls using basalt insulation
- Station wagon. This line is used for interior work in private homes. This includes:
- Ecover Light - has 3 types of density: 30 kg, 35 kg and 45 kg per square meter. They have a low level of moisture absorption (1%) and a standard type of thermal conductivity - 0.035-0.042 W per mK. Compression ratio – 20%;
- Ecover Light Universal - used for surfaces exposed to temperatures of no more than 400 degrees. Compression ratio – 25%. Density – 28 kg per cubic meter. The package has 12 plates, the total volume of which is 0.36 cubic meters;
- acoustic – designed to absorb noise, there is no shrinkage. Material density – 35 kg per cubic meter. Designed for installation on frame partitions, internal walls, ceilings between floors, on the ceiling of a room and between joists;
- standard 50 - has two types of density 50 kg and 60 kg per cubic meter. The compression percentage does not exceed 6%. Differs in increased strength indicators. The slabs are packed in 12 pieces. Volume – 0.36 cubic meters.
Specifications
The basis of all brand insulation is high-tech stone wool extracted from rocks. Product Specifications:
- density - from 30 to 60 kg/m3 (depending on the type of mineral wool);
- thermal conductivity - 0.035–0.041 W/m*K;
- water absorption - not higher than 1.5% kg/m2;
- sound absorption - up to 0.85;
- melting temperature of fibers - 1000°;
- the content of organic segments is less than 4%.
Ecover mineral wool is produced in the form of slabs measuring 1.0 * 0.6 m, with a thickness ranging from 30–250 mm. Thanks to these parameters, the options for using thermal insulation have been expanded. The choice of product brand depends on the required insulation thickness.

- Eco-facade - mounted on walls, under a thin layer of plaster. Withstands up to 40 kPa. The degree of thermal conductivity is 0.035-0.041 VK per mK;
- decor - have a thickness from 2 to 20 cm, peel strength exceeds 80 kPa, thermal conductivity - 0.039-0.043 W per mK. The insulation for the facade is packaged in 6 slabs, measuring 100x60x5 cm. Volume - 3.6 square meters.;
- ventilated façade 80, 90 – used both for exterior finishing and for finishing with plaster with reinforced mesh on the surface. Density varies from 70 to 120 kg per cubic meter. The degree of moisture absorption is 0.75 percent. Packaging – 12 slabs measuring 100x60x5 cm and a volume of 0.36 cubic meters.

Advantages and disadvantages of Ecover products
Like any thermal insulation, Ecover slabs have their pros and cons. The advantages of the material include:
